As I have already described, there are no electronic school bell at the German School in Izmir.
A beautiful large golden gong replace this, which is struck by the children.
At the beginning of each school hours, during breaks and at the end of the school, how it is in the schools.
How often is hit and the way in which the gong is left to the children. Some hit only once, some more often, perhaps, the one doller so, the other lighter.
So much for history.
One day a complaint flutters in the Sekretäriat.
Not because of the volume, no.
The complaint is about, that it would sound as if this was a church!
And that disturbs / the? Neighbors.
So was discussed with the children how to beat the gong different.
