29th October 2008
Today is a special day in Turkey. Today 85 years ago, the Turkish Republic by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was proclaimed. The day is a national holiday and all children are free. Even employees in the civil service and in banks have off. All others have a day like any other working day of the year.
What happened in Izmir? Izmir is a very Kemalist city. This means that people feel connected to a particular degree and Atatürk always wins, founded by Ataturk, the Republican People's Party elections.
Today, Izmir is accordingly dressed entirely in red and white and there is a big party at the Republic Square. In the provincial cities of Izmir's just red and white will be celebrated.
We were traveling in Cesme
Very nice,
very chic and very in demand for jet-set insider Turkey.
Accordingly, from the sleepy town has become a superficial tourist village.
Surfers who are especially great, have also settled down.
But today the village is a vast sea of red and white.
Everywhere sounded songs of the Republic.
Especially the song for the tenth anniversary of Turkey is often played over and over.
The one playing a cruel techno version of the song,
the others are well-crafted melodic version in the version of 1933.
But one thing is fixed Ibo,
Tarkan and how the stars and starlets are all called also
have no chance today.
Of course, time is also sung the national anthem of all children and students.
Anyone looking for happy faces in Izmir, who is today.

Do you have some pictures to this day?
Would be very interested.
I'm looking for one more thing out and then paste it into the article.
Good pictures, why do not you add one more what? This makes the blog more lively!
